Start a Mini-Walk

The Help the Homeless Program invites schools, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to host Mini-Walks. Whether it is a walk held with a high school, university, summer camp, nursing home, or Boys and Girls club, Mini-Walks are a great way to increase the awareness of the issues surrounding homelessness while raising funds.

Start a Mini-Walk in your area by completing these steps:

Review Guidelines

Submit Committment Form

  • Complete and submit the Mini-Walk Commitment Form to Dailey Events at least two weeks before the planned walk and no later than Friday, October 22. Once submitted, your identified Mini-Walk adult coordinator will be contacted by the Help the Homeless Program to assist in facilitating the Mini-Walk.

Pick-up T-shirts

  • If you elect to receive T-shirts for your Mini-Walk, complete and submit the T-Shirt Pre-Order Form to Dailey Events at least 72 hours prior to the selected pick-up date.  If you have not already turned in forms and funds to Dailey Events, bring signed registration forms and funds when picking up T-shirts.  To be guaranteed a T-shirt, signed registration forms and funds must be turned in by Saturday, November 20 to Dailey Events for the last pick up date on Friday, December 3. No Mini-Walk T-shirts will be made available after this date. T-shirts will not be mailed.
  • If you elect not to receive T-shirts for your Mini-Walk, collect walker registration forms and funds (NOTE:  Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Program will not accept checks written by Beneficiary Organizations) and submit to:

  • Submit all additional registration forms and funds collected to Dailey Events no more than ten business days after the Mini-Walk. Registration forms received after ten business days will not count toward the Beneficiary’s Walker Registration Incentive totals.
