Did you know? Over the course of a year, 2.5 to 3.5 million people will experience at least one night of homelessness.

Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Program

Thank you for your support of Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Program.  Working together we made the 2009 Help the Homeless Program a great success. More than 117,000 walkers participated in the 2009 Help the Homeless Program taking part in the Walkathon on the National Mall and hundreds of Mini-Walks throughout our community. Thousands of young people learned about homelessness and how they can help through Youth Engagement Activities.  All across our community we came together to use our feet to lend a hand.

The spirit shared by Walkathon participants was amazing.  Whether you walked in support of homeless children or adults, homeless veterans, the disabled or women made homeless fleeing domestic violence, we all walked to prevent and end homelessness in our community and with the belief that everyone should have a safe, decent place to call home.

Right now we are finalizing our plans for the Help the Homeless Program in 2010. Watch this space for updates and to learn more about how you can participate in the program throughout the year. Please enjoy these videos of the Walkathon and Mini-Walk video
